4th Doctor – Values, take 2

So, reworked the pose again, and shrank the head, since I thought it was a bit on the large side, even not counting the hair. Finally think I’ve lost that stiffness. Fourth time’s a charm, I guess.

Here’s another progress shot of the First Doctor. Looks a lot more accurate now, I spent most of the time carefully checking over the proportions; enlarged the forehead and chin, shrank the cheek.

The Doctor Who Portrait Project, vol 1

I’ve been watching the original series of Doctor Who lately, and I’ve wanted to work on my portraits. I’ve decided to combine the who and do a portrait of each Doctor as I come across. If I manage to keep this up, hopefully by the time I get to the new series, I’ll stop being so horrible at it.

Here’s my first attempt, William Hartnell as the Doctor, with my screenshot reference beside it:

Update from yesterday

Replaced the buildings with clouds and fiddled with the levels on the tree

Last call to kick my ass

So, I’ve finally added Cyandog to the rest of the image and I’ve redone the buildings in the background (very quicly and lazily).

Two steps to go until it’s ready to post a final version: go get last-minute critiques and decide how to frame the final version.
